If running the game fullscreen, you can have the game automatically start with single core affinity:ġ. This must be done every time you start the game. To solve this, you must start the game, and while the game is booting through the Konami logo, alt tab out, open task manager, click on the 'Processes' tab, click 'Show processes from all users', find and right click 'sh2pc.exe', and set Affinity to 1 Core. Silent Hill 2 must be run on a single CPU core otherwise the games' audio loops/glitches and potentially crashes, modern CPUs will have multiple cores which of course did not at the time of release.
